Although Turkish mills have been trying to maintain their domestic hot-rolled coil offers around $400/mt ex-works in recent weeks, some lower export offers have begun to be heard in the market in recent days, as news that the EC could start an anti-dumping probe of Turkish HRC raised concerns in the market, amid the COVID-19 outbreak which has already impacted demand. Ugur Dalbeler, CEO of Turkish steelmaker Colakoglu, one of the main exporters to the EU, told S&P Global Platts Thursday that a probe could be opened only via an official decision on the part of the EC. "We are not currently at that point," he said.
