Brazil's merchant pig iron exports jumped 106% year on year to 249,849 mt in November, according to data published Wednesday by the country's economy ministry, although they were down 31.8% from 366,706 mt in October. For January through November, pig iron exports totaled 2.54 million mt compared with 1.64 million mt in the same period of 2018. Most of the November material left Brazil from Rio de Janeiro port, at 16,744 mt, followed by Vitoria port, at 65,927 mt, and Manaus port, at 9,256 mt, according to the ministry data.
