Iran exports first HBI to Turkey

Iranian steelmaker Saba Steel has shipped Iran's first hot-briquetted iron (HBI) cargo toTurkey, according to domestic news agencies."We have shipped a trial cargo to Turkey for the first time" Yazdekhasti said quoted byMadan24. "Saba Steel is exporting to other countries; including Italy, Oman, Malaysia andQatar, but it is our first time exporting to Turkey" he added. "The amount of HBI used inthe country is very low and steel makers generally prefer to consume direct reduced iron(DRI), due to technical issues, as well as the distance and as a result of that, we canallocate a large part of our products to exports", he described.
