Big Oil Pressed to Support Obama-Era Methane Rules

Large, socially conscious investors are asking oil companies to match their stated concerns about fugitive methane emissions with real political action as they look to preserve US rules designed to limit pollution from wells. The Interfaith Center on Corporate Responsibility (ICCR), whose members control about $1.9 trillion in investments, sent a letter to 30 oil companies asking them to publicly oppose plans by the Trump administration to roll back and perhaps eventually eliminate federal oversight of methane emissions.
