US President Donald Trump Friday announced plans to nominate acting head of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Andrew Wheeler, to the slot permanently. Wheeler, who as the deputy administrator automatically took over in the role after former EPA chief Scott Pruitt resigned from his post in July amid a handful of ethics scandals, was the expected predecessor to Pruitt (OD Jul.6’18).
