Workers at Petroleos de Venezuela (PDV) have agreed to hold peaceful protests aimed at securing better benefits for dock workers at the country’s nationalized ports, according to the newspaper El Universal. Jose Bodas, head of the FUTPV trade union said some 3,700 dock workers have not been brought into PDV collective contracts after the nationalization of the country’s ports in 2009. Consequently they do not yet receive food subsidies or pensions benefits.
