Data Show Sharp Drop in US Crude Exports

Exports of crude oil from the US dropped to 19-month lows in early June, according to some market watchers. Kpler, which tracks seaborne crude movements, pegs US shipments for the week ended Jun. 5 at just under 2.3 million barrels per day, down from the official US Energy Information Administration (EIA) reading of 3.1 million b/d the same period last year. Kpler data has consistently shown lower export numbers than the EIA.
