EIA Adjusts US Oil Output Estimate Down

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) issued a steep downward adjustment of its estimated domestic oil production after the publication of some subdued output forecasts. The agency’s Weekly Petroleum Status Report, published Wednesday, showed that US oil production averaged roughly 10.7 million b/d in the first week of August, down roughly 300,000 b/d from the prior week.
