KBR Exit from Energy Business to Beneft Other EPCs in U.S. LNG Build-Out

KBR Inc. is exiting the energy business to expand its core government and tech- nology businesses, leaving a handful of North American liquefed natural gas (LNG) proj- ects to seek out new engineering, procure- ment and construction (EPC) contractors. In an investor presentation earlier this month, CEO Stuart Bradie said the decision to exit “the blue-collar construction and lump- sum EPC areas within our energy business” marked another step in the company’s transformation. Since 2015, KBR has increased earnings from its government business to 85% from 11%.
