Novatek Sells Arctic LNG 2 Stake to Japanese

Russia’s Novatek on Jun. 29 sold the last 10% in Arctic LNG 2 to a Japanese consortium, clearing the way for a final investment decision on the 19.8 mil- lion metric ton/yr project later this year. Novatek sold the 10% to Netherlands-registered Japan Arctic LNG, a joint venture between Japan’s Mitsui and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (Jogmec). Under the deal, the Japanese consortium will also offtake their respective shares, or 2 mil- lion tons/yr, of plant production.
