Novatek to Sell Additional 10% Stake In Arctic LNG 2 JV Project in Russia

Moscow- Novatek has entered into a sales and purchase agreement with a consortium of Mitsui & Co. and Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corp. (JOGMEC) for a 10% participation interest in the Arctic LNG 2 project planned in Russia (PCN, 17 June 2019, p 4). The project involves three 6.6-million-t/y liquefaction trains on concrete gravity-based structures on the Gulf of Ob. A final investment decision is expected in the second half of this year, with plans to start up the first train in 2023.
