Shanghai zinc premiums break 3-year highs as domestic stocks dive

Zinc premiums in Shanghai have climbed to their highest in morethan three years after Shanghai Futures Exchange stocks plummetedto their lowest over the same period.Metal Bulletin assessed zinc premiums at $140-150 per tonne on acif basis and in the bonded zone at the port of Shanghai on TuesdayMay 23. On Wednesday, trades were reported at above $160 per tonne,indicative of a rapidly rising market there.
