Domestic prices for hollow steel sections in both Northern andSouthern Europe moved down this week following continuedfeedstock price decreases and lackluster demand, sources toldFastmarkets on Wednesday May 1.The market has been quiet this week, largely due to the May 1public holidays in many European countries, but also because of theprevious slowdown for the Easter break across the continent.“Prices are under pressure and they have moved down on thelower coil [values],” a distributor said. “But we hope the market getsbusy [soon], as it’s too quiet.”
