ArcelorMittal, the world’s largest steelmaker, is developing atransformation plan for its Belval and Differdange long steel sites inLuxembourg, a company spokeswoman told Fastmarkets in theweek beginning Monday June 10.The plan will affect the sales and maintenance departments,Luxembourg labor minister Dan Kersch told a parliamentarycommittee in the country last week.“The project does not involve any plant closures or shutdowns anddoes not consider downsizing as a central fulcrum. Thistransformation project is part of a logic of accompanyingeconomic, commercial, technical and technological developments,”the ArcelorMittal spokeswoman said.
