Carpentaria Resources sees Middle East among key demand centers for its high-grade iron ore

Carpentaria Resources expects its planned high-grade iron ore product to find interest among buyers in the Middle East while the latter looks to diversify supply options for pellet feed, managing director Quentin Hill said during an investor briefing this week. “There is a supply gap in terms of both quality and quantity in the Middle East and with only three companies accounting for bulk of the supply, the region will be our product’s logical home,” Hill added. Middle East crude steel production stood at 15.2 million tonnes in the January-May period of 2019, up by 4.3% year on year, according to Worldsteel Association data.
