摘要

The government of Italy has extended the country’s Covid-19 lockdown until May 3 but the steel industry was again not included on the list of essential industries that are allowed to continue operations, Fastmarkets heard on Tuesday April 14. Late on Friday April 10, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced that he had signed a new decree that extends the lockdown in the country until May 3, extending it from original end date of April 13. Many steelmaking assets in the country halted production when the Italian government ordered the closure of all non-essential production operations in the country, including steelmaking, on March 21. Only ArcelorMittal Italia (ex-Ilva), Arvedi and Marcegaglia were permitted to continue working.
