Thai coal miner and power company Banpu suffered a 39% quarter on quarter decline in net profit in July-September, to $76m, as the Thai baht appreciated against the United States dollar. Sales from Banpu's Indonesian coal mining operation increased 25% quarter on quarter to 6.65 mt from 5.34 mt. The average selling price of coal from its Indonesian operations increased 14% on the quarter to $89.12/t while the average cost of sales decreased 7% on the quarter to $46.40/t.
