Australian vessel queues rise as fiscal year end approaches

The total number of vessels waiting to be loaded at Australia’s main coal terminals rose considerably this week, to 101 as of 30 May, up from 72 on 24 May. The increase is partly down to a push to get tonnage through the system before the end of the Australian financial year on 30 June and scheduled maintenance at Shiploader 2 at Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal (DBCT), although this is expected back into service Friday.
