China’s August coal imports tumble 37% on year to 2020 low

China’s imports of all types of coal declined 37% year on year in August, to the lowest levels of the year so far, re?ecting tightened import controls, preliminary customs data show. Imports were 20.7 mt last month, falling 37% or 12.3 mt from the same period last year and were also down 21% from 26.1 mt in July.
