Bukit Asam enters niche markets as China, India deals dry up

Indonesia-listed miner, Bukit Asam (PTBA), says it has and will continue to diversify its export sales given the significant impact China and India’s demand weakness has had on the company’s plans. “Given these challenging conditions, our strategy of diversification outside of the traditional markets of China and India needs to continue,” remarked Appolonius Andwie, corporate secretary at PTBA. “Our efforts have resulted in multiple deals for shipments into Pakistan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Australia, Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia and Brunei Darussalam.”
