摘要

Chile's demand for sulphuric acid could be boosted in the coming weeks with strike action at BHP's Excondida likely to be averted at the last moment. Management at the copper mine said August 15 that it had struck a deal on a new labour contract with the union representing most of its workers, according to Reuters. The deal terms offered by mine operator BHP must still be put to rank-and-file members of the union for a vote. Early August 15, the union said it was putting a planned strike on hold.
