DAP players in India are mulling another increase in their maximum retail price (MRP) by roughly INR 1,000/mt, according to market sources, partly to offset higher phosphoric acid/DAP import prices and depreciation of the Indian rupee. At press time there were some rumours that Chambal had now increased the MRP for new material to INR 25,000/mt. The possible increase would bring the DAP MRP for most companies in India to around INR 25,000/mt, including the goods and services tax. It follows rises in January from most companies to roughly INR 24,000/mt including the GST from around INR 21,500/mt at the end of 2017.
