US NOLA: Some barge sellers give up

New Orleans granular urea prices stumbled almost from start to finish this market week. The highest trade was cited April 27 at $225/st FOB, but by late May 2 prompt barges transactions had slid to $223/st, 222/st, 218/st and 213/st FOB New Orleans. Some of the blame for the decline was placed on at least one trader liquidating a small number of barges from a recent import cargo. Lower prices in some inland markets also put pressure on New Orleans barge values.
