Egypt exported 3.26 million mt phosphate rock in the full year of 2017, a 21% increase on 2016 volumes and an annual record high dating back to data from 2005, according to IHS Markit. Exports to India increased 9% year on year to 1.55 million mt. Rock shipments by Egypt to Indonesia in 2017 climbed 50% to 888,416 mt while those to Malaysia rose 36% to 254,867 mt. The volume to Romania was down 6% at 215,485 mt.
