There is still no news from the Department of Fertilizers (DoF) or Indian Potash Limited (IPL) regarding the much awaited tender for urea to complement NFL purchases of 387,000 mt via its December 22 tender. Opinions on the possible timing still vary substantially, but a March DoF clearance remains a possibility, albeit now termed relatively remote by the majority of traditional suppliers of urea to India. One or two "imminent" die hards do however still expect DoF clearance to IPL or another authorised importer to ensue during February, possibly during the week commencing February 19.
