Spot prices for sulphuric acid sales to Chile were assessed up at $70-80/mt CFR from $65-75/mt CFR, as it became increasingly clear that spot levels in the $60s/mt would not be achievable in the near future having not been available for several weeks. Spot business has been confirmed up to $75/mt CFR, and some believe that new prompt business would likely be closer to $80/mt, particularly given increases in Asian FOB levels and current high freight rates.
