Chile: Urea imports up 25% through July

Chile imported 285,000 mt urea from January through July 2017, an increase of 24.7% on the same months in 2016, according to data from Servicio Nacional de Aduana via IHS GTA. China retained the lead with 118,000 mt, but this was off 11.2%, and Venezuela doubled to 86,000 mt. The US was up to 74,000 mt from 100 mt via increased exports following the start-up of new domestic urea units.
