The surge in granular urea replacement costs out of the US Gulf prompted producers and other distributors to raise price demands across the Midwest to $270-280/st FOB. Indications in the Dakotas are around $290/st DEL. Most sellers reported very little interest at the new levels. Cheaper UAN has made some buyers reluctant, even if they are not locking up new UAN purchases. The price per unit of N for urea in the Midwest is at least $5.87/unit versus UAN at no higher than $5.63/unit late this week.
