Brazil: Jan-Sep granular phosphate imports up 6.2%

Brazil imported 7.9 Mt granular phosphates (DAP/MAP/TSP/SSP/NPK/NP and NPS) in the first nine months of 2020, a 6.2% rise year on year as increases in DAP/MAP imports more than offset lower TSP/SSP/NPK and NPS volumes, according to IHS Markit data. MAP imports in the first nine months of 2020 rose 28% year on year to 3.7 Mt. Volumes from Morocco increased 53% to 1.3 Mt, imports from Russia jumped 56% to 886,578 t while imports from Mexico rose to 170,348 t from 55,312 t and volumes from China jumped to 248,485 t from 100,305 t.
