Brazil: Buyers yet to accept granular above $290/t CFR

Brazilian importers were faced with ever-increasing offers for prompt and forward positions for granular urea over the week. A firm offer at $290/t CFR was available August 5, but this had not elicited acceptance. Initial quotes in the $270s/t CFR were replaced by offers rising rapidly to culminate with offers up to $295/t CFR. Actual trades have been limited following small sales reported as low as $265/t CFR towards the end of last week. A sale at $272/t CFR was confirmed within this reporting week.
