Trade in granular urea in Europe remained slow this week, with no new sales concluded despite distinctly firmer prices from North Africa, and a global rush from key importing nations to secure tonnage in competition with India. Offers were posted up significantly to €255-260/t FCA along the French Bay despite efforts by some suppliers to secure a minimum of €265/t FCA. The continued strength of the euro again improved CIF returns. The European currency was trading at $1.185/€1 at the time of writing, still up by about 6% from $1.115/€1 a mere 30 days ago.
