Sulphuric acid prices, particularly on an FOB basis, continued to struggle with downwards pressure from weak demand, higher freights, and competition from Chinese smelter exports. The export price range for cargoes from Japan and South Korea was assessed slightly lower again at $0-5/t FOB, representing a new low since March 2017, when the mid-point was negative. The price range is now down 94% since the start of 2019.
