US Gulf: Spot steady following recent low-priced sales

The spot price assessment for sulphuric acid cargoes to the US Gulf was unchanged this week at $12-27/t CFR pending new sales. As previously reported, six cargoes were heard sold at $12-14/t CFR US Gulf. A couple of these cargoes will go to Brazil rather than the US, sources said. The origin of the cargoes was reportedly sulphur-burner supply from Mexico rather than smelter acid tonnes from Europe, as the tonnes that went to Mexico's Fertinal last year were not committed there this year.
