Sulphur spot prices were mostly stable this week as limited prompt availability slowed price falls, but fundamentals remained weak and there is potential for more downside going into January given weak fertilizer markets and high China sulphur stocks. Some slight declines were recorded on the latest spot sales to Brazil, as Mosaic sourced additional cargoes from the Middle East for January around $64.50/t CFR, with CMOC's latest tender reportedly slightly higher than this. This left the Brazil spot assessment at its lowest level since it began being published in February 2010, having fallen 63% since October 2018.
