Middle East: Assessment unchanged but pressure remains

Spot prices for sulphur exports from the Middle East were assessed unchanged at $65-70/t FOB pending new indications, though the upper end of the range was likely to prove more challenging. Recent sales were reported from Middle East producers in the mid-$60s/t FOB, and Muntajat’s monthly 35,000 t sales tender of August 20 reportedly received offers no higher than the mid-$60s/t FOB. The producer subsequently posted its monthly QSP for September at $65/t FOB, down $10/t from August.
