Iran hails 19 Tcf Eram gas find but route to market obscured by US sanctions

The National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) yesterday announced the discovery of a new onshore natural gas reservoir in Fars province in southern Iran. NIOC director of development and engineering Reza Dehqan said the Eram discovery contains an estimated 19 Tcf of gas, of which 13 Tcf is recoverable, plus as much as 385 million barrels of condensate with an estimated value of USD 40 billion - assuming, of course, that sanctions-hit Tehran can find a route to market.
