Delek and Noble double gas exports to Egypt in major win for gas-flooded Israel

Noble Energy and Delek Drilling, partners in Israel’s Tamar and Leviathan fields, have more than doubled the firm volume of gas they can to ship to industrial consumers in Egypt. The move should go some way to alleviating the oversupply of gas facing the Israeli market and the companies struggling to commercialise it. The increase will also likely take pressure off of Egypt’s domestic production to meet local demand, enabling Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) to concentrate on directing gas to the 7.2 mtpa capacity LNG export facility at Idku - which last week cancelled a six-cargo LNG supply tender.
