Exploration offshore Pakistan has failed to unearth a major hydrocarbons discovery, in an embarrassment for prime minister Imran Khan who had raised the prospect of a major find enabling the country to end oil and gas imports. Drilling at the Kekra-1 well in Pakistan’s Block G ended this weekend after failing to encounter commercial reserves, reports suggest. The well will be plugged and abandoned, it is understood.
