摘要

Kazakhstan has suffered a major setback in its efforts to bolster oil and gas production and export revenue after Shell and a host of major international companies withdrew from offshore developments, deeming them uneconomic. A Shell spokesperson confirmed with Gas Matters Today that it and its partners in the North Caspian Operating Company (NCOC) consortium have abandoned plans to develop the Kalamkas field in the country’s portion of the Caspian Sea.
