US major ExxonMobil has made an oil discovery with the Turbot-1 exploration well offshore Guyana – with the find being called the largest in the country to date. “Following completion of the Turbot-1 well, the Stena Carron drillship will move to the Ranger prospect. An additional well on the Turbot discov- ery is being planned for 2018,” ExxonMobil said.
