Stinger Technology has landed a frame agreement from Norway’s Equinor for the provision of light intervention, inspection, and monitoring services. Stinger said that its mini-ROV systems could be operated from the platform topside and perform ROV inspections that are currently performed with support from IMR (inspection, maintenance and repair) vessels. The technology has the potential to reduce carbon footprint and increase efficiency, noted Stinger, adding that low carbon footprint was a competitive advantage, providing attractive business opportunities in a transition to a lower emission economy.
