Pacific Drilling's rig boost

Pacific Drilling could soon have five rigs drilling at the same time - in a major surge of activity levels considering the company has had just one rig working in recent months. Pacific is still working to restructure its debt and has been depending on revenue from its long-term US $550,000 a day contract for the Pacific Sharaw drillship with Chevron in the US Gulf of Mexico (GoM). There has also been occasional short-term deals for the Pacific Santa Ana, Pacific Bora and Pacific Scirocco.
