BP posts steady profit

UK major BP recorded a profit of US $2.8 Bn for Q2 2019, which is in line with its profit for Q2 2018, while its production increased during the period. BP said that its underlying replacement cost profit for Q2 2019 was $2.8 Bn, similar to a year earlier. The quarter’s result largely reflected con- tinued good operating performance, offset by oil prices lower than in Q2 2018, the operator noted.
