Southern Iraq Oil Exports Hit Record

Basrah crude exports from southern Iraq have reached 3.9 million b/d, their highest ever, according to the Iraqi oil ministry, which is pushing to offset the fall in shipments from the north and maximize revenues. The ministry has been ramping up production from Iraq’s central and southern oil fields and announced last month that it had lifted Iraq’s crude export capacity from loading facilities in the Gulf to 4.6 million b/d, after commissioning a new 900,000 b/d capacity single point mooring (SPM) (IOD Oct.31’17).
