Maersk Teams With Mitsui in Tanker Deal

AP Moller Maersk has agreed to sell its oil tanker business to a subsidiary of its controlling shareholder, AP Moller Holding, for $1.2 billion in cash. Danish company AP Moller Holding owns more than half the voting shares in Maersk and will pay for its fleet of 161 oil tankers. It will then set up an ownership group for Maersk Tankers to include Japan’s Mitsui.
