China's exports of refined products fell off a cliff in July to their lowest level since January 2017, more likely due to limited overseas demand than to strong demand at home. China's overall product exports fell to 3.21 million tons in July, Chinese customs data indicate, with exports of diesel sinking to 550,000 tons, a level not seen since 2015. Beijing has been trying to stimulate the domestic economy. Infrastructure projects are ramping up, and so is trucking-two important drivers of demand for diesel. China's diesel production rose 10.7% in July from a year ago to 15.1 million tons (3.64 million barrels per day) after surging 12.7% in June.
