Libya’s Haftar: No State Crude Sales

Libyan Gen. Khalifa Haftar says he will not export state crude and seeks only to seize the capital Tripoli from the UN-backed government of Prime Minister Fayez Serraj despite controlling between 90%-95% of Libya’s oil output (IOD Jun.25’19). Haftar said his Libyan National Army (LNA) was not a trading company. “It doesn’t sell oil, legally or illegally” he told Bloomberg. Tripoli-based state National Oil Corp. (NOC) has “exclusive” rights to market and sell Libyan crude, he said.
