Opec Worries About Global Oil Surplus

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) continues to express concerns about the large surplus of commercial inventories overhanging the world oil market, especially given the apparent slowdown in global economic growth. In its latest Monthly Oil Market Report, Opec notes that during the second quarter, OECD commercial oil inventories increased 79 million barrels to 2.76 billion bbl, a relatively large seasonal build, pushing forward demand cover to 61 days.
