Adia Gets New Chief

Abu Dhabi has named Sheikh Hamad bin Zayed al-Nahyan head of the Abu Dhabi In- vestment Authority (Adia) following the sud- den death of the giant sovereign wealth fund’s top executive, Sheikh Ahmed bin Zayed al- Nahyan, in a glider crash in Morocco last month. Sheikh Hamad, the brother of Sheikh Ahmed and a member of the royal family, be- comes managing director, legally responsible for making all Adia investment and opera- tional decisions. Sheikh Hamad is already chief of the crown prince’s court and the chair- man of General Holding Co., which owns a number of large industrial firms in the UAE.
