Ford's electrification efforts won't kick into high gear until the Mustang Mach-E arrives next year but, for now, mild-hybrid power continues to bolster the line-up. The Fiesta joins the Puma and Focus with a 48V set-up, using a belt-driven starter motor and small battery charged by regenerative braking to feed in extra torque. The combination makes acceleration that little bit peppier, while minimising turbo lag, letting the stop/start system cut in while coasting below 15mph, and providing modest efficiency gains.
